The controller responsible for data processing on this website within the meaning of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is:

2. General Information

Videoflix is a non-commercial educational and portfolio project. We only process personal data that is technically required to operate this website and to provide its features. No data is processed for advertising purposes, and no tracking or analytics services are used.

3. Hosting and Server Log Files

This website and its backend are hosted on servers located in Germany. When you visit this website, the hosting providers automatically collect and store information in server log files: IP address, date and time of the request, requested resource, browser type and version, and operating system. This data is processed on the basis of Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR to ensure the secure and stable operation of the website and is not merged with other data sources. Log files are deleted automatically after a short retention period.

4. Registration and User Account

To use Videoflix, you can create a user account. For this purpose we process your e-mail address and a password. The password is stored exclusively in encrypted (hashed) form and cannot be viewed by us. Your e-mail address is used to activate your account and, if requested, to reset your password. The legal basis for this processing is Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR (performance of a contract). Your account data is stored until you delete your account or request its deletion.

5. E-Mails

We send transactional e-mails only: an activation link when you register and a reset link when you request a new password. E-mails are sent via a mail server located in Germany. We do not send newsletters or promotional e-mails.

6. Cookies and Local Storage

This website uses only technically necessary cookies. After logging in, authentication tokens are stored in cookies (httpOnly) to keep you signed in; they are not used for tracking. In addition, your browser's local storage may temporarily hold your e-mail address to pre-fill the registration form. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR; since these cookies are strictly necessary, no consent banner is required. You can delete cookies and local storage at any time via your browser settings.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to request information about your stored personal data (Art. 15 GDPR), rectification (Art. 16 GDPR), erasure (Art. 17 GDPR), restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR), and data portability (Art. 20 GDPR), as well as the right to object to processing (Art. 21 GDPR). You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority. To exercise your rights, simply contact us using the e-mail address given above.

8. External Links

Despite careful content control, we assume no liability for the content of external links. The operators of the linked pages are solely responsible for their content.
